The sensor is a thermistor with negative temperature coefficient (NTC) characteristics. The higher the temperature, the smaller the resistance. It converts the ATF temperature in the automatic transmission into a voltage signal and transmits it to the TCM as the basis for TCM shift control, oil pressure control and lockup clutch control.
The oil temperature has simple structure and small volume. It is generally used in automobile gearbox to detect the oil temperature of gearbox.
