The pressure sensor is located beneath the engine hood in the high-pressure section of the refrigerant circuit, positioned between the condenser and expansion valve. It measures pressure in the A/C system's refrigerant loop and transmits data to the Control Module (CMM). This enables precise HVAC regulation to ensure occupant thermal comfort, cabin air quality, and windshield defogging/defrosting.
A monolithic ceramic diaphragm undergoes mechanical deformation under applied pressure, resulting in a change in its capacitance. A signal-conditioning ASIC captures and amplifies this signal, processing it to output a voltage signal proportional to the applied pressure.
